Happy Birthday!

Today we celebrated Josie's 6th birthday.
Don't know if any of her birthdays have been celebrated in the past.
Glad that we can start showing her that she's a loved child of God
and that she now has a valued place in our family.
Strange celebrating your child's 6th birthday just 6 days after meeting her.
Brain full of jumbled thoughts trying to fathom the implications of it all.
Can't be done.  Shouldn't try.
Just need to focus on today--doesn't it have enough worry of its own?!
Lord, teach us to number our days, that we might live lives of wisdom.

  1. Happy Birthday Josie! Looking at the progression of pictures from this vantage point, it seems like her countenance gets brighter and more at ease. I hope that is the case :) It was great to see all the pictures of other families there as well. Makes my heart happy to know that these children now have families committed to loving and helping their little ones heal. You are one day closer to home!

    we love the photos.
i saw david neal at church this morning passing in the hall, his smile was huge! "hi mrs. jones!!!!" I said, "david!!!! " and we stopped and smiled at each other. I said, "david, can i give you a hug?" He said, "sure!" so we hugged and i prayed in my heart that the days would be fast before you come home. when we passed he turned and said, "mrs. jones, my mom and dad are in china getting Josie!" I KNOW!!!!
